Hi sweetheart.
Rahama by Kaestrings is the song that fits this mail, so play it as you read. ✌🏾
One of the struggles of writing is naming subjects. I have always fought with the idea of having subjects in mails. Although important, the conceptualization stresses my brain a lot. Let’s not even talk about work emails. I have tagged work mails with the funniest subjects. “leave me alone I don tire”, “last revision don’t stress me”, and a lot of other funny subjects. Knowing I had issues tagging emails, my current supervisor had to bring my attention to it.
So let’s tag this Lesson 1.
Before we dive right in, I want to ask you a question. How does it feel to like someone? Does your heart beat fast when you haven’t heard from them? Do you sometimes tell yourself “I don’t want to have to deal with this thing, so you cut it off? Are you dismissive and avoidant?
What is your attachment style?
Do you sometimes think “Because I can’t do this, I can’t fall In love or like this person? I believe love is a crazy concept. I don’t know how to explain it, but the moment you see that you are constantly worried about someone, and always checking to see that they are good, always looking forward to talking to them, e be like say you don love up o.
If it’s not something you are ready for, you should take a break and communicate it. Let them know. So that they don’t feel bad that you are distant. Like I’d always say, whenever you see love, give it blow. 🫵🏾👍🏾
I hope this helps you.
Now! To what we want to talk about. I hope you read the book as I requested. You must read it so you can follow through with all that I want to talk about in the next couple of weeks.
Judges 1.
Let’s start from chapter 1:1
“AFTER THE death of Joshua, the Israelites asked the Lord, Who shall go up first for us against the Canaanites to fight against them?”
Judges 1:1 AMPC
Back story, the Israelites just came out of Egypt and they are about to sit in the promised land that God brought them into, after maybe 60 years there. It makes sense for them to have just entered the promised land but they asked the lord who will go for them to fight. They all could rally around and fight the Canaanites and all those who inhabited the land. It makes sense for them to have just decided that one tribe will go for the whole nation, but they asked the lord.
As crazy as this sounds, the Israelites had a culture of constantly asking God before making any move. As far as they had a priest with them or someone who could lead them. Throughout Moses’s time, every time they needed to do something, Moses always went to God. That shaped their belief system.
. You must cultivate a habit of consistently seeking God’s guidance on what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. This discipline becomes a culture, not out of obligation, but through personal commitment. Culture is a habit formed over time through intentional practice. While many of us understand the concept of culture, its significance in our devotion to God cannot be overstated. Culture plays a vital role in deepening our relationship with Him.
Whether it makes sense to you or not, as a Christian, cultivating a culture of seeking God's guidance transforms your intimacy with Him. Always ask God what to do next, how to do it, and when. Prioritize Him in everything. Don't feel like He's too big or distant. A simple prayer suffices: 'Father, I'm drawn to this person; clarify if they're the one.' Or, seek clarity on any issue. Sometimes, persistence is necessary.
You shouldn’t grow weary of asking until you receive the desired outcome. As a believer, you must persist in prayer, seeking His face until He provides the answers you seek. You often rush for quick fixes, but He desires intimacy with you. This is where trust and faith come in – trusting His timing and plan, and having faith that He’s working everything out for your good.
Ask, seek, and knock. It’s not an “asking once” statement, it’s a “fervently” kind of situation. You must stay.
Here’s what staying does. Staying builds your faith. Staying, helps your heart to be more in tune. You must stay.
Cultivate the art of asking God before making any move.
It’s humility.
You finally have recognized that there’s only one person that can solve your problem o. The Bible says something about “humbling one’s self to seek the face of the lord. Humility is a crazy concept. We hardly ever talk about it.
As natural human beings, we’re incredibly proud. Perhaps too proud. Wayyyyy tooo proud, ahannnn!. You may understand this, but let me illustrate our pride. We often don’t turn to God as our first resort. Instead, we try to solve problems on our own, seeking to claim the glory for ourselves. This tendency is usually unintentional, but it’s a harsh reality. Only after succeeding do we exclaim, “Thank God!” Lmao. As how now?
We often wait until things spiral out of control before seeking the Holy Spirit's guidance. However, by inviting God into our lives from the outset, we acknowledge that our strengths come from Him. Trusting in His direction empowers us, even when we're capable on our own. “He’s our empowerment “
Trusting your judgment enough to pursue your plans without seeking the guidance of the Holy One reflects a lack of reliance on divine leadership. Take David, for instance; he consistently sought God's counsel before making decisions. The one time he didn’t, he born Abimelech and Solo! And him see shege. You shouldn’t always get to that stage.
So Today, I want you to make a conscious effort to ask the Lord for guidance before undertaking any task, no matter how big or small. Ask Him to lead you, tell you exactly what to do, and show you how.
Remember, God is more willing to hear and lead you than you are to listen and be led. He's too gentle to force His way, but His love is unstoppable. After all, He sacrificed Himself for us – the ultimate act of goodness.
It makes sense why it’s said that “He’d leave the 99 to find you”
Write down the things you want to talk to him about, let him know. Before you start any tasks take a few minutes to ask God. Before you do anything at all, take a few minutes to say thank you and ask.
We get too busy to prioritize prayer, Too busy! thinking those small moments don't matter. But prayer is both time-consuming and timeless. Every little drop counts, forming an ocean of connection with God.
Prayer isn't just about requests; it's a communication tool. Share your thoughts, movements, and heart with God as you would with your closest loved one. Amazingly, God's vastness condenses into intimacy, allowing us to experience His magnitude in our smallest moments.
Cultivate your walk with God, my friend.
